History

In 1995, we sensed the need for cultural awareness about the Iranian culture and arts within the city of Fresno, CA. The Iranian Culture and Art Club (ICAC), a non-profit organization, was created to help promote cultural awareness through Persian books, films, music, dance, lectures and community events.   The first Persian Language class started with 15 young children of Iranian-American descent on September 1990.

Mission

Cultivate, Educate and Preserve the Iranian culture through informative and enlightening programs for all the residents of Fresno County.  ICAC provides, at minimal cost to the student, Persian language, dance, music, theater and poetry classes. In our organization we believe that education produces clarity and tolerance within the community.

Programs

Celebrations: Celebration of Lights (Yalda), Fire Ceremony (4Shanbeh Souri), New Years (Nourooz)

Persian Language Classes
Currently Persian Classes are held at Unitarian Universalist Church of Fresno every Friday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm and are followed by Persian dance instruction until 6:45 pm.

Dance Instruction
These classes will help create talented local dancers  who hopefully will cultivate their dancing skills and become teachers for future generations. We create full dance program with costumes and props for ICAC to share the Persian culture with the community.
